  • Hello,

im discovering the tuning options for euro6 180hp competizione. I noticed that G-Tech offers Performance kits with different turbos. In one option you get 225HP and in other 240HP. First question - is this safe with stock internals, clutch, flywheel on the long run? What turbo do they use in 240 kits? Does it have the potential of more HP, once you get the forged internals? Or then you have to change to another turbo?
Second question - now as Competizione comes from factory with Garret 1446 turbo, does changing really makes sense to reach "just" 240hp? I read that with garret 1446, 200 KAT, some bigger exhaust, remap you can reach 330NM+ and around 220HP.

    What do you guys think?

    best regards

  • As much as I know G-Tech is using an optimized hybrid made of two different chargers - GT1446 should be on of 'em but I'm not sure about that point! Don't know which components exaclty come from which charger, but the components optained an optimization! A compressor is limited by its surge and choke lines, also by the maximum permissible compressor speed! With an flow optimized, larger and lighter compressor wheel you enhance them and the charger performs more efficiency! Therefor of course the housing gets CNC machined to host the larger compressor wheel. Usually enhanced chargers also use a better bearing to bridge an lack of lubrication to extand the life of the charger!

All in one - it makes defently sense to use an optimized charger, especially if you want to gain the performance of your engine!

    Greetings!

  • What do you guys think?

    t regards

G-Tech' policy is about high quality and high performance and also durability. They also offer a great service, so I can recommend to contact these guys and clarify your questions with them! I guess G-Tech itself can most answer the questions about the possibilitys of it's RS-S turbo!

  • Im trying to read through forum but having problem to understand the language. Im trying to decide, if the 240hp kit is worth the extra money on 180 competizione. With the remap and 200 kat, you should get the around 330NM and 210HP?

Basically im deciding between 1)remap+200kat and exhaust (with original garret 1446 turbo)
    2)240HP Performace kit

The price difference is quite big.

    Any suggestions?

    thanks

  • The biggest advantage of the RS-S Kit is the long range of the high torque! You got more than 300nm between 3250- and 5000rpm! The GT1446 won't come close!

If it's worth the money depands on you. What's the purpose of the Abarth? Racetrack, highways or fun on the streets?

There're also some interesting alternatives I think! The LB200 Kit from Pogea Racing for example or a swap to the TD04 turbo!

The car will be used mostly on the road. Maybe some track day from time to time. Track days are mostly over for me, for now :) Yes i also considered the Pogea, but as i can read the forum, mostly people go with G-Tech rather than the Pogea?

Are there any graphs from LB200 kit from Pogea?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Are there any graphs from LB200 kit from Pogea?

    Sure!

The LB 200 Kit was invented by Pogea last year, so it's not available as long as the G-Tech Kit. Since I've heared about it I'm thinking about it, but my Abarth still got warranty for one year and so I'll have to wait for it. Unfortunately I don't know anyone here in the board who already has it!

Here you can see the posibilitys of the kit with OEM hardware - but the hardware won't take the torque long unfortunately!

  • hy

i have the RSS Evo its the same as the 240 Kit.

    i have 236.9hp and 377.1nm Torque.

over 300nm from round about 3000rpm to 5300rpm.

but the GT1446 runs as hell with the right Software.

    about 220hp and 340nm to 360nm.

In doubt flat out =) Colin McRae

Thanks for all the graphs. Valuable informations!

Tell me about it. I ordered the car, didnt even get it yet but i know i wont be able to hold without modification for two years, until it gets from warranty. Im coming from 380HP/1250KG Type R, but fell in love with the abarth. Just trying to make it a little more alive :)

So as I understand correctly, there isnt wide range of torque avaliable due to stock components ( such as catback, KAT, intake)? Or the stock internals will not last long with this kind of torque?

Oh.. And what is the difference in hardware between the first two graphs and the third - last one? (the one with limited range of torque- is this one with stock gt1446?)

    Thanks
