Hello & apologies for the English.

I've been looking into upgrading to a 595, but having gotten used to the Webasto in my TwinAir I'd of course like to have one in the Abarth as well. This led me to discovering the Euro5 vs. Euro6 issue.

From what I've read, the problem is caused when the engine has been stopped for more than 7 hours. If so, the ECU performs a sensor test, comparing ambient/intake air temperature with coolant temperature. If the difference is big enough, sensor is assumed to be faulty, and code P0116 results.
I wonder whether a dealership could program the car so that it is aware that an auxiliary heater is fitted.

According to some random forum-goer in Finland, a workaround was performed on "some Japanese car" by having the auxiliary heater turn on ignition for a few seconds, which was enough to reset the 7 hour timer.

Waltf62, do you think you could test this? Activate heater, enter car, turn on ignition for 5 seconds or so, then turn off. After the engine has been warmed, does starting the car result in the error?
