Intake manifold is custom CNC made for me. You will need to remove the air conditioning if you want to fit a manifold like this. It is custom designed to work with the enlarged cylinder head ports and the ITB's.. You can't really use one without the others..

Hi, sorry I didn't explain myself properly. The original ECU can have the rev limit changed, but according to G-Tech this is not possible with a plug in box. Anyway, if I used a plug in box, the tune would be fixed. With a programmable ECU I can add/change anything I like then just get it mapped again by the same engine builder. This is why I can't go to G-Tech for this because they are too far away from me. Hope that explains it a bit better. As I am constantly modfying the car I need the flexibility of the programmable ECU.

I don't know Unichip but I've just had a look. Looks good, but I don't think it can fix the base problem with the standard ECU and that is the rev limiter is not adjustable. You cannot change the rev limit in the Abarth ECU. That is why I needed a new ECU that would still talk to the body computer in the Abarth yet take me to 7500/8000 rpm.
Boost kicks in about 3,500 rpm..

Hi, Yes the ITB is by necessity not design. There is not enough room to switch to larger MAF so we go the route of ITB with Plenum. To even be able to do this, we have to remove Air Conditioning unit! This is becoming more common modification now for small engine bays.
Turbo is a Hybrid Garrett 28R from memory. G-Tech fitted it when the car was converted to GP/R ST. I may look to see if there are upgrades.
ECU is complicated. We make it work with standard instrument cluster, speedometer and tachometer which will read to 8,000rpm. It is a sequential EFI unit.
We have removed Coil on Plug ignition and replaced with EDIS ignition due to limitations of the ECU.
The Ram pipes on the ITB's are not so long in reality, the ones shown are for a different engine. Much shorter in the Abarth!!!
I have Lexan windows coming for the car soon too.
One day I hope to put this engine in Assetto Corse 695 with Sequential gearbox...!!

Custom Intake ManifoldI hope to rev to at least 7,500 rpm. Power and Torque?
Car to go on the dyno very soon!

Car did 152 mph on Becker GPS, I think top speed is 155 mph as I had a 3-400 rpm left.
-
Thanks! Have you been on http://www.abarthforum.co.uk yet?

I don't know at the moment, I have not tested it because I have only had car in the winter so far! I will try and find out top speed when I am on Autobahn tomorrow traffic permitting! Last time I collect it from Stetten in Dec 09 I got 145 mph with 1000+ rpm left on tachometer. I ran into traffic so had to slow down.
When I get back to UK I will do some performance testing and take it to Santa Pod drag strip. We have maximum speed of 110kph on Motorways in the UK so I will not be able to try a top speed test unless I go back to Germany.

Hello all,
I come to Stetten this Thursday morning to collect car from Helmut! See pictures of BMC airbox and 307PS configuration!
I want a cold air feed from NACA duct. So I will either swap the NACA duct to the other side of the bonnet and get the cold air feed there, or run a tube (probably something solid metal/carbon) across the cylinder head and back into the filter then out to the existing NACA duct.
The BMC filter is huge to support 300+ PS. Normally in Ferrari/Lamborghini there are two smaller filters.
Cheers,

Car has LSD and Kw V3 coil overs. I don't have any problems with putting power down and have very little torque steer too!
-
We add large BMC air box and Helmut now have 307 ps on his dyno....

-
Ah! What is it like? Is it good? Tell me more about it!
Is there paddles too? -
It is going for more live tuning on the rolling road. To optimise the fuel mapping now the new bonnet is fitted.
What is that gearstick? Is that the G-Tech sequential shift?
-
If anyone wants to see my car it will be in Stetten at G-Tech from Wednesday until next Monday.
-
I am 1.93m and the driving position is much better than standard! Yes it is a bit hard to see over the bonnet but it is not a big problem.
Yes, the hole in the bonnet lets water directly onto the battery and onto the ECU! I have to work out something to cover over this for the winter months.
More pictures..

More photos later, but the car is now home. Handling much better thanks to lower seating position and new wheels & tyres.

I already have a private video on Youtube if anyone wants to see it private message me with your Youtube ID and I will give you access to it.
I have just bought a camera mount so I will hopefully record some more videos quite soon!!
