Feiertag?

    ...fast...

First, sorry for answering in english

I have the Konis and would like to get the Barracuda Tzunamee in 18". Will they fit using 205/35 tires? Do i need spacers to clear the Konis? Is it at all possible?
OK to find out before spending almost 2000 euros getting them :)

I read German so feel free to answer in German.

    Thanks

Der Luftfilter ist aber sehr ungünstig positioniert besonders für ein offenes System! :-/

GTT has lots of experience in tuning Mini's and Renault 5 turbos before they started on the Abarths. The placement of the filter has been researched and tested by GTT. The front of the filter is in a higth pressure zone under the scuttle panel. I have also drilled a few holes in the plastic here, but that's mostly for more induction sound. On the dyno with their GTT 190 tuning the difference with the stock airbox vs the Induction kit was 15 bhp...

I am very happy with mine and it gives noticeable gains in how fast the turbo spools up and how the car feels on the road. Looks good too :)

Nice and a very clean Engine bay!!! I am impressed! ;)
How satisfied are you with TMC? We don't hear alot from his tuning here in Germany. :P
Is Polly Motorsport not tthe company of that crazy guy who got a very fast Pontiac!? How does he make that road legal? :D

    nardoo

    Thank you Nardoo :)

I am very happy with TMC. He is also highly regarded on the UK Abarth forum. His online store has a lot of Abarth goodies and I have bought a lot of nice stuff from there.

Pollly Motorsport is the crazy guy with the Pontiac :) How he has done it I have no idea.. 407 kmh is his record..

The next step in tuning my Abarth is in place :)

As the mechanical novice I am I have to say it was surprisingly easy. The most stressful part was holding on to a nut that holds the battery tray. Is there a magnetic socket set out there? But my GF has small hands and assisted me so all was well. Since I have the GTT Cold Ram kit I didn't have to remove the airbox to get to the MAP sensor. When putting the battery tray back in we used some gum to hold the troublesome nut in place in the socket

I managed to mount the connector for the Boost sensor upside down (a common mistake according to the soothing voice of Daron from TMC Motorsport on the phone when a rather stressed out norwegian called him after starting a spluttering and coughing car with no boost...) :pfeifen:

Removed the battery to gain access, swopped the boost connector over and voila. The car is noticeably faster. More bottom end grunt, and holds the boost longer. On the road it is definately noticeably faster. :top:

    "The mechanic" at work:

Here are some pics of my engine bay :)

The next planned mod is an uprated GTT actuator, 200 cell kat and bigger bore downpipe.
I got Polly Motorsport standing by to fit and adjust when and if I decide to get it done :)

    Pretty neat car, congrats 8)

A video of you cleaning the 500 would be awesome, as you seem to be an expert in cleaning a car especially the 500 abarth.

    cheers :)

Thanks. I do have a bit of OCD when it comes to car cleaning :) I'll see what I can do about a video. Won't be until spring, because there is nowhere to do a proper clean now that winter has arrived in Norway :)

    Totally diggin' that mats! :D
Guess there are none on the market for the Grande Punto?!

Looks like your new "cold intake" just makes sense with a fresh air hole in your hood?
That way it just soaks up more hot air, I'd say.

The mats look brilliant, and I am very happy with them. Don't theink they have made them for the GP.

The scuttle area is a high pressure zone so it does get cold air. It was tested in the development of the kit and this was the best area to get cold air from. The Simota kit gets it's air from the same place. I have drilled a 5 cm hole in the plastic of the scuttle panel area just in front of the filter. It gives more induction noise. :)

I've been on a small shoppingspree and ordered some stuff for my car. A Christmas present for my self of sorts. So headed my way from TMC Motorsport in the UK there was the following:

695 Tributo Ferrari style aluminum mats. These were seen in the pressphotos of the 695 Tributo Ferrari, I've posted one below but I don't think they were ever delivered with the cars. But TMC has made some that looks like them :)

    Here they are IRL

I got the Tributo Ferrari badges on ebay.

I've also treated myself and the car to a GTT Cold Ram Induction kit
In this kit is also a grenade style pop off filter I also bought a GTT/SFS Silicon Induction Hose to replace the restrictive original part.

In addition to this I have gotten a battery cover, turbo heatshield and expansion tank cover in polished aluminum. So now my engine room is shiny! I've also bought some 695 badges to put under the Abarth logo on the rear fenders :)

I received the Cold Ram kit and the other bits in the post a few days ago and it got put on the car ASAP. Gives my engine bay a whole other look. And that induction sound is epic :)

I didn't put the silicone intake hose on as it seemed a bit fiddly. I'll leave that for when I get the rest of my GTT 190 kit put in. Didn't get any in progress pics as I was a bit eager, but a few afters. The scorpion badge was bought on ebay and put on for decoration. One can never have too many scorpions IMO :D

Sorry about the poor quality of the pictures, combination of iPhone and poor lighting is not a good one First the parts were inventoried on my dining table

    Engine before:

    After:

    Details:

The kit gives the car a bit more omph as the turbo spools up faster, it produces more pops and bangs from the exhaust and the suction noise is great. It also has a pop off filter so you get a nice understated sneeze when you let off the trottle.

On a dyno the kit should give between 8 and 15 hp ekstra depending on other mods etc.

greeting from the middle of germany

Thank you, and yes I DO love it :) Saved up for 1,5 years and paid about 42000€ for it (Cars are expensive in Norway)

Another welcome from Germany. Your car looks great. I think, the last time your car was that clean, was when it was built.

Thank you! I don't even think it was that clean when it rolled off the factory floor ;)

    Very nice !
Try to change the Magnet Marelli Blue&Me map to an Blue&Me TomTom 2 Live.
    Its much better !
You want to clean my car ? ;)

I wanted the Telemetry, plus I love the fact that it says Abarth on the bottom. But the one I got had no map of Scandinavia and it won't pair up with the car. The car won't accept the Blue&Me MAP 5.5 upgrade. I just get a Config error message :( I guess the dealer updated the car with the wrong software and now I can't change it...

    where are the esseesse wheels?

    greets from austria

The esseesse wheels are to be used as winter wheels so they have been dressed with some Continental Winter Contacts and are safely stored :)

A big velcome here from Denmark.
You have a very fine Abarth.
You are just like me :D

How maney Abarth is there in Norway

I don't know exactly, but somewhere around thirty I would guess. There are 2 or 3 GPAs 2 or 3 Tributos and 2 or 3 esseesse's. The rest are normal A500s

Cool car and some really nice pics.

    Welcome from Germany!

    Thank you!

As I am a detailing freak I had a massive new car prep on the car

I had to do the work in two parts as I was derailed by an almost pink old Toyota Corolla that I wanted to see if I could do something to fix. So first a good wash and some smaller jobs and the main polishing part done a week later.

I started by soaking the wheels with Bilberry wheel cleaner mixed ca 2:1 and I let this work while soaking the car with MAC Prickbort degreaser on the entire car.

    Prickbort working on some insects

I was then going to prepare my foamcannon, but I discovered to my annoyance that I had forgotten to bring the cannon..

I retorted to using the soap pump on my Karcher and used some more time pressure washing and handwashing

My assistant that had camera duty decided to have a break when I washed the car so no pictures was taken at this stage.. I used Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss in my bucket with a little dash of snowfoam and a microfibre wash mitt

The car was dried off using Chemical Guys Wholly Mammoth (I just love that towel..) and the car was left with all doors open in the sun for a while.

Yes I know the esseesse sticker is in the wrong place, it has been replaced.

    Eyes don't leave fingerprints

I waxed the wheels using Swissvax Autobahn and I dressed the tyres using Swissvax Pneu.

    Swissvax Autobahn on the exhaust

Assistant 2 is paying attention... from a safe distance of course ;)

I the dressed the windows using Nanolotus window sealant. First the provided cleaner is applied

    Buffed off:

Then the sealant itself is sprayed on and evenly distributed using a Nano sponge.

The plan was to do a 1 step polish abd wax but a very faded red Toyota Corolla dukket came along and I was tempted to see if I coluld make it red and shiny again. This 50/50 of the roof says it all IMO...

A few days later it was time to complete

    Some Bilberry.

    Followed by Prickbort degreaser

Then my Abarth was foamed for the first time using Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss and a little snowfoam :)

Handwashed using the same mix in the washbucket.

Dried off using Chemical Guys Wholly Mammoth

Taped up using 3M blue masking tape

I then polished the whole car using my DAS-6 DA polisher, Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Professional and Hex Logic blue pads

The wax of choice was 2 layers of Swissvax Concorso

Been hanging around the forum for about a year but since I don't write german I haven't written anything. Thought I'd present my 500 esseesse. It is a 2011 model imported from Germany and I bought it new in June. Currently I have 6500 km on the clock.
